🥾 Hiking Mount Brandon & the Dingle Way
Walks for every level
Whether you’re a casual hillwalker or an experienced long-distance trekker, the Dingle Peninsula offers some of Ireland’s most awe-inspiring hiking experiences — and An Riasc is perfectly placed to support them.
Mount Brandon, the highest peak in Kerry after Carrauntoohil, offers panoramic views of land and sea. It’s a sacred mountain steeped in history and a must for those seeking spiritual calm and stunning scenery.
But for those wanting to go further, the Dingle Way is a 168km loop trail that circles the peninsula from Tralee to Camp, via Mount Brandon, Slea Head, Dingle Town, and beyond. Two of the most beautiful segments — Dún Chaoin to Feothanach and Feothanach to Cloghane — pass just minutes from An Riasc.

Why We Recommend a Rest Day
We’ve found that many of our hiking guests benefit from taking a day to pause before tackling Mount Brandon or continuing on the Dingle Way. It allows your body to recover, your mind to absorb, and your soul to stay open to the magic of this place.
And because we’re committed to sustainability, encouraging 2–3 night stays helps us reduce nightly turnovers and create a more grounded rhythm for everyone.
🧭 Ask us when you arrive, we’ll help you map a custom loop or suggest the best quiet routes for the day.

🎶 Language, Music & Dance in the Heart of the Gaeltacht
Step Into a living Tradition
At An Riasc, you’re not just close to the culture, you’re in the middle of it.
We are proud to be located in Corca Dhuibhne, one of Ireland’s strongest Gaeltacht regions, where Irish (Gaeilge) is still spoken daily. It’s the language of our home, our neighbours, and our stories. You’ll hear it in morning greetings, at the pub, and during local festivities.
Whether you speak none or a little, we love sharing the language with guests, from a friendly Dia dhuit (hello) to a local proverb at breakfast.
