Our Breakfast Philosophy: Local, Seasonal & Made with Love
At An Riasc, breakfast is more than a meal, it’s a ritual. A gentle welcome to the day, infused with care, connection, and the deep flavors of the Dingle Peninsula.
Whether you’re preparing for the Dingle Way or enjoying a quiet morning with the mountains as your backdrop, our breakfast table is where your day begins !
Rooted in the Land: The Soul of Our Kitchen
We believe that good food begins with respect for the land and its rhythms. At An Riasc, we honour local producers, ancestral knowledge, and seasonal abundance.
Here’s what you’ll find on our breakfast table:
🥚 Fresh eggs from the farm next door, laid by free-roaming hens
🍞 Homemade jams, granola, and fresh bread, often made with herbs and fruits from our garden
🧀 Cheeses, yogurt, and butter from artisan producers in County Kerry
🍎 Wild berries, apples, or rhubarb when in season
🧁 And of course, our warm Irish scones, freshly baked and served with real butter and jam ( the guest favourite)
Our guiding principle? Keep it honest. Keep it close to home.
The Irish Breakfast, Our Way
The full Irish breakfast has long been a symbol of Irish hospitality. Generous, grounding, and made with love. At An Riasc, we honour that tradition with a nourishing and thoughtful approach.
What’s on the plate?
Free-range eggs (boiled, poached, scrambled, or fried)
Smoked rashers and sausages from local butchers
Grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, and seasonal greens
Farmhouse special: succulent Kerry pork sausages or occasional lamb sausages
Prefer something lighter?
Organic porridge with local honey and cinnamon
Fresh fruit salad, yogurt, and our homemade granola
Herbal teas and locally roasted Irish coffee
We happily cater to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets.
And sometimes… there’s a surprise: elderflower syrup, lemon drizzle cake, or seasonal apple compote.
A Breakfast with a View (and a Story)
What makes breakfast here unforgettable isn’t just what’s on the table is the sense of place.
Through our dining room windows: views of the Slieve Mish mountains, open sky, and sheep-filled fields
Inside: the smell of baking bread, the warmth of a hearth, and stories shared among travellers
It’s beyond food, it’s connection. To land, to people, to tradition.
Irish Hospitality, One Bite at a Time
In Ireland, hospitality is sacred. The act of sharing food is an act of welcome — and breakfast is often where the best conversations begin.
At An Riasc, we celebrate Irish culture and tradition through food:
You may hear a few words of Gaeilge around the table
On seasonal feast days (like Imbolc or Lughnasadh), you might taste special herbal teas or see garden flowers on the table
Our shelves hold myths, poetry, and stories of the peninsula. A quiet invitation to explore its soul
Whether you’re a hiker or a honeymooner, you’ll leave breakfast nourished in every way.
